Welcome to Dig Into Books!

by Jacqueline on June 27, 2012

About the blog: If you’re an old friend, welcome back to digintobooks! I’m excited to be sharing this blog journey with you. If you’re new to the website, I hope you love the blog and stick around for awhile! I started this blog in November, 2011 after falling in love with several blogs on the internet (including Eat, Live, Run and Oh She Glows). I absolutely love, love, LOVE reading and eating, so what better to write about? With all of the reading I have to do for school, I get a lot of exposure to literature and it always gets my mind thinking about meals related to the books I’m reading, what certain characters would eat, and what food was available during the time period. This blog has grown with me through the months and I’m proud to offer restaurant reviews, book reviews, meals based on books, fun snack suggestions, reading lists, and healthy food! I look forward to writing much more about these topics and having you with me along the ride!

Current Situation: I just wanted to write a short post re-welcoming everyone to digintobooks and explaining why some things might be funky on this blog right now! After a lot of thought and consideration, I decided to move my blog from wordpress.com to hosting at dreamhost! As you may know, I’m a literature and creative writing major: I read words, not html code, or whatever the heck it’s called. Needless to say, this process of moving my blog has been a little bit overwhelming. I think I’m finding my way around okay, but it’s still challenging to figure everything out, especially in a short time span. Right now, I think I’ve got all of my old posts here (even though the links within them don’t work), and I’ve worked hard on putting up a new recipe page. I won’t bore you with the minute details of all this transferring and the process behind moving from wordpress to dreamhost, but if you’ve got any tips or suggestions for how I can improve this website, please let me know!

I added a couple features that I think you guys might like: there are now buttons at the bottom of each post for sharing my posts on facebook, posting pictures on pinterest, etc. I also have a Pinterest page so if you’re interested in following digintobooks or pinning any of my recipe, go there for a convenient look at all of my recipes!

I’m still working on coming up with a “books” page to keep track of all of my reading-related posts, and on a few other updates so bear with me! I’ll try to keep the recipes coming while I’m working on website stuff. Tomorrow, come check out an easy weeknight meal that looks something like this:

Scallops on pasta with broccoli and bell peppers? This is one of my favorite dishes, my husband cooks something similar!

I’ll post my recipe tomorrow – it’s actually a shirataki noodle stir fry with peanut sauce. It was so good! I love scallops – I’m sure I would love your husband’s version. Thanks for stopping by!
